Giles Biddle is delighted and honoured to have been appointed an OBE for "services to arboriculture and the environment" in the New Years Honours list for 2001.

Another honour bestowed in 2000 was his election as an Honorary Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Foresters.

These honours do not signal his retirement, but rather his continuing efforts to promote the profession of arboriculture.
